Fools Gold
Warner Bros Movie - Fools Gold started
screening February 7th, 2008. If you haven't
already seen it, it is worth going to for
viewing beautiful locations of Queensland ,
such as Lizard Island , Whitsundays and Port
Douglas. With scenes shot in Macrossan /
Wharf St 's, plenty of locals were seen -
some pretty quickly.
M.V. Phantom appears in the first 10 minutes
and has plenty of footage on the back deck
fight scene and travelling. The weather and
sea conditions were perfect It just confirms
what a great place Port Douglas is and
hopefully will inspire people to holiday
here.
A film for all the family, catch it on the
big screen. I know I will be getting a few

Queen Victoria visit
February 29th saw the Queen Victoria anchor off Port
Douglas for the day. With approx 2000 guests on board
and 900 crew, she was an impressive sight for a picture
perfect day. Several hundred guests disembarked for a
day on shore to do local tours to the reef and
rainforest, with many opting for a day shopping.
Phantom at 19.8m in length was a mere speck along side
her. Several tour boats and private craft headed out
especially to view her closer up. With many running
several times for a 90 min. tour during the day.
Hopefully she will be the start of many more to visit.
